OBS Config for YouTube
Here is the config we are normally using for our YouTube / Zoom streams.
Output > Streaming
The important settings here are:
Bitrate: 2500 Kbps
Keyframe Interval: 2s.
Explanation: During video streaming, we don't just send the full images, but rather the differences between this and the previous frame. Because it is more efficient. But we still need to send the full image sometimes because if some of the packages with differences get lost or corrupted then the video will become distorted.
This setting is responsible for the frequency of sending the full image. In auto mode, it is ~10s, and YouTube can get confused, so we are manually setting it to 2s.
Output > Audio. We use 160 for Audio Bitrate:

OBS Tips
Easily make an image fit the screen with
Ctrl + f
shortcut:There is an annoying behaviour when after Transition OBS "swaps" the preview and program screens, instead of just replacing the program screen with the preview. This can be easily changed if you click on the 3 dots on the right of the Transition button and uncheck this setting:
